Sizes and Styles

Sizes There are many ways to look at sizes, and for many clients visualising the size can be difficult. Having looked at this and tried out several alternatives we have standardised on a method we hope you will find helpful. Our sizes equate to the approximate corner to corner measurement in inches, as most people will be able to visualise this, as it is the same representation method used by TV manufacturers. In reality we work in mm, and rounded the size references to the nearest inch. As the width of frames vary, we work on the basis of the rebate or glass size, this is also directly comparable to a TV which is also based on the glass area. This includes the image and mounts/mats. As there is a title, and other information under the photograph, and we have standardised the cut out size of mounts we have had to vary slightly the image sizes between upright and view formats. Image sizes are approximate and will vary very slightly. The tables below define these sizes in more detail, most of our mounts are 10cm wide, the same as you will find in most leading art galleries around limited edition art works. The exception to this is size 26 which has a slightly uneven mount, about 8cm, so that we could offer a conventional and popular 20x16 inch frame size. This size also may be helpful for those with smaller rooms, and limited wall space in some modern homes. The image area on the size 25 view is 534 sq cm, while the size 33 is 1,385 sq cm more than two and a half times the size. Rectangular images

Styles Our standard limited editions are available with a choice of 5 frames, common across all editions, two tone dark wood, a dark wood, light wood, black and silver. If we change these standard frames, we will as long as we are able to get the moulding also offer these as alternatives, so you can collect our editions over time, knowing that matching frames and mounting will be available. In addition we have a signature edition, which has specific mounting and framing, for the image, chosen by the photographic artist, so as to give a complete look. Some months we plan to offer one or more other frames, for that month only, allowing you to get a more unique combination of your choice. In most cases this will not involve additional cost. To see these as they become available as well as being told of all new editions register for our free email newsletter. In some cases these may also be available longer term as alternatives. Currently all except the signature editions are mounted using a common mount style that we have found works well, bringing out the best in the photographic art and going with all decors. Our quality control is second to none, images are printed and individually checked in detail, and allowed to dry fully for at least 24 hours flat in a controlled and consistent environment and never stacked. They are handled only with cotton gloves, and we use only archive quality materials, ink, mounts and other items throughout. Mounts, frames, and special glass are all individually checked in detail before using and the finished work of art checked as well, before they are carefully packed up for delivery to you. What is more this entire process is done by a photographic artist to make sure it really is of the standard that we expect. Your limited edition print also comes with a limited edition certificate of authenticity, full of information, and specific in every detail to your individual work of art. You also have two guarantees, firstly a full 100% money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with the work you receive and secondly a guarantee, valid for your entire lifetime that the work will not deteriorate, you can use and enjoy this fully it doesn't have to be hidden away in a dark place. Mounting Our standard mounting is two tone with a smaller area of dove grey and larger area of pale ivory. This will go with any decor and helps to bring out the colour in the images.
The Back Some say you should turn an artwork over to see how much attention went into the mounting, and when you do with our works you will not be disappointed, instead of a couple of eyelets, and piece of string you will find the highest quality fittings, including a very strong braided steel wire, complete with adjustment system, all fitted with brass screws so they will not rust. |
